What You'll Be Doing

As a vital member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates that ensure our projects are successful from the ground up.

• Plan Interpretation: Accurately reading and interpreting building plans to create detailed material and labour estimates.

• Software Management: Developing and maintaining templates for standard G.J. Gardner designs and managing the local Price Book.

• Cost Control: Identifying potential job delays or cost variations and working to mitigate them early in the process.

• Scheduling: Using our Construction Scheduling System to create accurate project plans and timelines.

• Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with our local suppliers, subcontractors, and internal sales and admin teams.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a local team player with a passion for the construction industry and a "measure twice, cut once" mindset.

• Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the residential or commercial construction industry.

• Local Knowledge: You must be based in the Wodonga region with a solid understanding of our local building landscape.

• Multitasking Pro: The ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.

• Eagle Eye for Detail: A high level of accuracy, ensuring every nail, bolt, and hour is accounted for.

• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with computers and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and a hunger to master new industry software.

• Trade Background (Optional): We welcome applicants with a strong background in residential construction (e.g., carpentry) and a genuine desire to move into an office-based role.
